This documentary chronicles the lives of a group of young Egyptian women from a very conservative village in Upper Egypt who formed an all-female acting troupe despite family rejection. It’s an amazing film, I felt really seen, relatable, moving and emotional. Most of the time I felt like I was there in some way, it’s so moving! I can feel their struggle, their fears and their dreams, how hard it is for them to even dream about it, how brave they are to follow their dream even though it’s too hard for them in their conservative and restricted community… I really love it! The singer’s voice brought me to tears just listening to it. The cast is so real, so authentic that I feel like I could easily meet them anywhere, I watched it once but I will go to the cinema again and watch it. I would really like to see something else from them.
